Shop Makeup For Dry Skin

Finding the right makeup for dry skin is essential - it's surprising how many formulas can cling unflatteringly to dry areas, or look too "flat" rather than like skin. Those of us with dry skin at Adore Beauty have put together a list of our favourite products.

From light coverage to full, from primers to setting sprays, we've got dry skin covered. After moisturising, apply a primer made to hydrate the skin. This will keep your skin from looking flat or full throughout the day, while really locking in your makeup. Try going for a lighter coverage foundation with a dewy finish, and go back in with a high coverage concealer over any blemishes.

If your skin is too dry for powder, skip it completely! Or if you still get an oily T-zone, only apply powder where you need it. Try using a mineral powder over the top of tinted moisturiser, which will add just a bit of coverage but wont completely mattify your face.

And speaking of, try giving mineral powder a shot! Many new-generation mineral powders are made with skincare ingredients and emollients, so you may be very surprised at how flattering and hydrating they are.

A cream blush and contour will add dimension and colour. Look for creams that have a transparent base - think more like a jelly than a cream. Or try a liquid tint, which will last all day and give you a natural looking flush.

Don't forget - there are hydrating setting sprays that leave you with a dewy, hydrated finish and keep your makeup looking fresh.

Good shade for my skin

I wear the ivory and find it blends well with my skin, I also have dry patches and this doesn’t exacerbate them. Not as long wearing as others but still good.

My go-to primer

I'm on my 6th tube of this primer, I buy it time and time again. I find it has a moisturising effect and doesn't make your skin feel tight like other primers do. Smells fresh and natural, a good tacky consistency when it starts to dry. I use it under estee lauder double wear everyday and feel it is a good barrier to such a high coverage foundation.

Cult Quality.

I always used this foundation, and then tried a few that were more natural in ingredients. Though have come back to it as it provides the best light to medium coverage and provides the most suitable colour for my skin. It also works well with my dry skin. It never cakes and provides even texture throughout the day. It is a little pricey and would like L'oreal to commit to not testing on animals in any country.

Tan in colour and very drying

Left my skin feeling almost scaly. Didn't like it at all. It also had a colour to it that wasn't very flattering on my quite light skin. Would probably work a lot better on someone with more olive or brown tones, and whose skin wasn't so dry to start with.
