Shop Sensitive & Acne Friendly Makeup

It can be really difficult to find makeup that is right for your skin type, especially when your skin is sensitive and reactive, or you're suffering through a breakout. These are our best picks for makeup that is free from common irritants, yet give your face a flawless finish.

if your skin is sensitive, it's possible that makeup part of the problem - if some ingredients don't agree with your skin they may cause congestion, or irritation. It's often very difficult to pinpoint what is causing the issue, however it is good to look for hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic products that do not contain potentially problematic ingredients. And remember - what works for you may not work for others, and vice versa.

If your skin is sensitive or acne-prone, try using foundations, tinted moisturisers or BB creams with mineral-based physical sunscreens. Keep an eye out for Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide - they sound like a mouthful, but they're both mineral ingredients that block the sun naturally. These aren't absorbed by the skin, so are great if your skin is sensitised.

Another thing to try is a mineral powder! Many new-generation mineral powders are made with skincare ingredients and emollients, so you may be very surprised at how flattering and hydrating they are - they don't cling to flaky or uneven skin areas, and give the look of natural skin with just a bit of blending. They're also perfect for sensitive skin, and feel like wearing nothing at all.

Good for skin health

My skin clinician put me onto this as I suffer from breakouts, and she believed wearing the “department store” cosmetics are the cause as they block the pores.
I use this foundation (along with a YB blush and bronzer) as my everyday makeup, and do notice that I have less breakouts & my overall skin health is better. I like that it’s formulated with SPF sunscreen too!
It’s also safe to use post procedure (lasers ect) as there are no nasty ingredients.
If you’re looking for makeup that is actually good for your skin, this is it!
Ps use a kabuki brush for application!

Lovely for a special event or a night out

I love this foundation. I have used this as an everyday foundation and also just for special events. It is quite a long lasting foundation which I love but I have found if using every day you will need to invest in a good cleanser/ exfoliater as it can be quite heavy on my skin. Works great with the soft and gentle illuminator from the MAC range also. I always get lots of comments on my make up since using this product. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately not for me

unfortunately this product wasn't for me. I felt like this product really struggled to blend seamlessly into my skin, no matter what application method I used. I looked at my skin after an hour or so and you could visibly see the makeup sitting on top of the skin or separating in areas. I gave it a good go, but also found that it was starting to break me out.
